Advanced Methods in Field Archaeology
This course builds on the methods and techniques introduced in Introduction to Field Archaeology. Students will be given practical experience in advanced excavation and recording techniques including development and management of the site archive and finds recording and classification. This duration of this course is two weeks, courses begin every Monday from May 12th until August 4th, 2014.
Archaeology, anthropology students
1. Work within the legislative framework for archaeological excavation
2. Design an excavation strategy appropriate to feature types
3. Understand methodologies for artifact recovery and sampling of features
4. Record competently all aspects of the excavation of features
5. Maintain a site archive
