The main components will be lectures and presentations by leading researchers and participants' presentations. Topics include

Households (families, human capital and poverty),
Finance, property rights, labor markets/institutions, farm/firm productivity,
Political economy,
Networks.

Selected papers and research projects by participants will be presented and discussed during the day. We encourage all participants to submit either complete papers or detailed proposals, raising the conceptual and methodological problems that they face and that they would like to discuss. Other partecipants who do not wish to present a paper are also welcome.

The application should be submitted not later than April 15th, 2014.

the Departments of Economics of the Universities of Trento and Verona, and the Interdepartmental Centre for Research in Labour Economics and Economic Policy of University of Salerno

PhD students, post-docs and junior and senior faculty members

Course aim

Provide young researchers with a detailed overview of the main methods used in empirical and theoretical research in development economics.

Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss and present their own research projects with leading researchers in a relaxed and open atmosphere.
