The Summer School Programme offers five one-day courses designed to introduce participants to the advances that are being made in the rapidly developing field of nanotechnology. In 2013, this five-day intensive summer school provides an introduction to the exciting and emerging field of nanotechnologies in medicine and healthcare.

Each of the five days of the Nanomedicine Summer School has a dedicated theme and delegates can enrol for one day, more than one day or for the whole week - discounts are offered for those enrolling for all five days.

Each day is led by key researchers in the field. The course will be valuable to those seeking an introduction to current research and applications in the subject. The full Summer School programme is as follows:

2 July 2013: Nanotechnologies for Regenerative Medicine & Tissue Engineering
3 July 2013: Nano-Diagnostics
4 July 2013: Nano-Biosensors
5 July 2013: Nano-Pharmaceuticals

This year it is also possible to apply to take the Nanomedicine Summer School for academic credit.

Target group

The Summer School will appeal to scientists, researchers, production managers and technical managers within the health and pharmaceutical industries as well as those engineers, materials scientists, biochemists, and regulators involved in the supply and governance of the medical and healthcare sectors.

Credits info

Anyone attending all five days of the Nanomedicine Summer School can apply to take this as a module for credit at postgraduate level. Passing the assignments will earn students 20 Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS) points at FHEQ Level 7; the two assignments are completed in the weeks following the Summer School and are submitted online. There is an additional cost for taking the module for credit. To apply, please complete the appropriate form (see below).
