Ambivalences of Europeanization

when 31 May 2017 - 14 July 2017
language English
duration 7 weeks
credits 6 ECTS
fee EUR 1303

This course is designed as a series of seminar sessions, round table discussions and other activities that accompany the whole program of the summer school. The objective of the course is to illustrate the inherent ambivalence of Europeanization processes through their linkage to the concepts of modernity and modernization. Ambivalences are seen as inherently contradictory consequences of both intentional and emergent processes that have arisen and that arise during historic and contemporary moves towards European integration.

Course leader

Prof. Timm Beichelt and Prof. Claudia Weber

Target group

This course is part of the summer program "Ambivalences of Europeanization - concepts, conflicts and challenges"

Course aim
