Jean Monnet Module in EU Environmental Policies and Law (POLLEN)
The EU Environmental Policies & Law (POLLEN) - Jean Monnet Module is a novel and intensive academic programme organised by the Institute for European Studies in partnership with the Research Centre in Political Science, both at Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles.
In 2016, the European Commission selected this programme as a Jean Monnet Module.
The POLLEN Module aims to foster excellence-in-teaching in EU Environmental studies and consists of a two-week course of 43 teaching hours (staggered hours) covering the following areas:
EU Environmental Law and EU in Multilateral Negotiations
EU Climate Change and Energy Governance
EU Waste Management, Chemicals and Nanotechnologies
Biodiversity, Agriculture, Food & Trade
Target group
The POLLEN - Jean Monnet Module is aimed at Master and PhD students and practitioners in Law, Political Science, International and European Studies, but also in other environment-related areas (e.g. Life Sciences, Bioengineering
Course aim
Its academic added value relies on its interdisciplinary character. Confirmed speakers come from humanities and social sciences and from applied sciences. It thus exposes participants to a range of theoretical approaches and methodological skills, helping them bolster their career prospects and grasp the environmental challenges Europe faces today.
