Chinese Politics and Public Policy
This course is an introduction at Master level to the contemporary political system of China, with a special focus on its policy making process. The emphasis is on China’s political structure, and state - society relations. This course aims to provide students with a background on major political events in modern China, and then to investigate the current political issues in China today—environmental civil society activity, problems and benefits associated with continuing economic liberalization, and discourse from within the CCP on political reform.

Target group
Students of social sciences (incl. law, economics, business), sciences and engineering at senior undergraduate or graduate level with an interest in society, governance, politics. While this course is taught at Master level, students at the advanced bachelor level may also apply.
